The left midfielder joined on loan from West Ham on March 27th 2008 to provide another attacking option for the end of season run-in.
Reid made his full Hammers debut in a 1-0 victory at West Bromwich Albion in 2005/06 and stepped off the bench in the infamous final match of that campaign against a sickly Tottenham Hotspur side, cut down by a virus.
Reid also had an hour run-out in the League Cup defeat at Chesterfield in October 2006 before being loaned to Championship outfit Barnsley, where he made 26 appearances for the Tykes as they narrowly avoided relegation.
This season, the England Under-19 player - who joined the club as an Academy scholar in July 2004 - has had few first team opportunities, but he did set up Dean Ashton's last-gasp winner against Plymouth Argyle in the League Cup Third Round.
In November 2007 he signed a new contract tying him to Upton Park until summer 2009.
