Crystal Palace FC completed the signing of defender Tony Craig from Millwall on Wednesday morning, with the player moving to Selhurst Park for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old left-back has signed a three year contract with the Eagles and will begin pre-season training with his new team-mates next week.

Craig began his career with Millwall after coming through the youth ranks at the New Den and he made his debut in the final few weeks of the 2002/03 season at the age of just 18 before scoring his first goal for the Lions in only his second senior appearance.

He has since gone on to establish himself as a first team regular and has made over 80 appearances for the club, culminating in successive 'Young Player Of The Season' awards over the last two years.

The Greenwich born player now joins former Millwall team-mates Matt Lawrence, Darren Ward and Paul Ifill in SE25 and he spoke of his decision to make the move after passing a medical at the club's Beckenham training ground.

"It's a nice step up for me. I've played in the Championship before with Millwall and I'm thoroughly looking forward to it," he said.

"I heard about the interest around three weeks ago and this week the two clubs agreed a fee and it's all been finalised now.

"Hopefully we're looking to get in the play-offs and go up so we all want a good season for the club."
