Clubs: Plymouth Argyle, Crystal Palace, Coventry City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Norwich City, Derby County

Attacking full-back Marc Edworthy was signed in the summer of 1995 and he soon impressed at right-back. His consistency was praised by many as he missed only two games throughput the season and Palace fans soon realised his importance to the side as the club came close to regaining Premiership status.

In 1996/97 the Eagles surged to play-off success and by this stage Marc had developed into a stylish wing-back who could also operate as a sweeper.

In Palace's top-flight season of 1997/98 Marc became Palace's captain and he was sometimes called upon to play in a midfield role so he was a popular choice for the Player of the Year award. The following season saw Marc join Coventry City in a deal worth £1.2m as financial problems hit the club and many supporters were sorry to see him leave.
