Palace had to settle for a point in their first home game of the new season, as a late goal from Clinton Morrison sealed a 2-2 draw against Leicester City.
The Republic Of Ireland international took his Palace goal tally to 99 with an added time strike after Leicester had come from behind to take a second half lead.
The Eagles opened the scoring in the first half through Stuart Green's free kick as Palace looked to build on last weekend's opening day victory at Southampton.
However, Martin Allen's team came out for the second half strongly and Palace had no answer as they conceded goals from two set-piece corners before Morrison's late leveller confirmed an unbeaten start to the campaign.
The Eagles started with something of a new look to the team, as José Fonte made his Championship debut in a holding mifield role as a replacement for the injured Ben Watson.
It was a tightly poised opening to the game too, with few openings or opportunities for either team, although an offside flag denied Morrison of a decent chance after Mark Kennedy's cross was headed down into the area by Leon Cort.
Palace always looked the more likely scorers though and just after the half hour mark though, the Eagles edged in front after Morrison was dragged back by Patrick Kisnorbo inches outside of the box. Green stepped up and drilled home a low shot from the resulting free kick into the bottom corner, giving Marton Fulop no chance and seeing Palace in front at the break.
A switch at half time saw Danny Butterfield replace Fonte, after the Portuguese had been switched to right-back midway through the first half and swapped roles with Matt Lawrence.
Leicester also made a change with Iain Hume on for Mark De Vries and less than five minutes after the re-start they had a decent opportunity when DJ Campbell's cross from the right picked out skipper Stephen Clemence at the far post, but his left footer flew high and wide of the target.
The visitors were certainly in hard chase of an equaliser it took a stunning save from Julian Speroni in the 58th minute to keep Palace level when James Wesolowski's bobbling shot looped up after a wicked deflection off a Palace defender.
They didn't have to wait long though and they drew level just after the hour mark when substitute Levi Porter's corner picked out Patrick Kisnorbo in the area and he powered a firm header at goal. Speroni got a hand to it, but couldn't prevent DJ Campbell from forcing the ball home from close range.
Palace almost found themselves straight back in the lead after 68 minutes, when Kennedy's free kick from the left picked out Mark Hudson, but his header was straight at Fulop.
It looked as though it could be defeat for Palace too, as with only four minutes remaining Leicester took the lead in a remarkably similar fashion to the way they equalised. Clemence curled in a corner from the left for Kisnorbo to power home a downward header, although Campbell wasn't needed to help on this occasion.
Palace weren't finished though and with the game in added time, Dougie Freedman's free kick was nodded back across goal by Cort and Morrison was there to finish at the far post and rescue a point for Peter Taylor's men.
