Palace extended their run of League results to eight games without defeat two weeks ago, when despite being reduced to 10 men, the Eagles managed to record a 2-0 win over Ipswich at Selhurst Park thanks to a goal in each half.
Midfielde Tom Soares received his marching orders midway through the second-half, but by then the Eagles were already 2-0 up thanks to goals from Leon Cort and Paul Ifill.
Both sides started tentativley but Ipswich's top scorer Alan Lee was finding some space, his fifth minute shot failed to trouble Gabor Kiraly though. A few minutes later Palace had an opportunity of their own but Cort headed straight at Ipswich keeper Lewis Price from a Mark Kennedy free-kick.
Republic of Ireland striker Lee was proving a handful for the Palace defence and in the 27th minute he spurned another chance as Owen Garvan's ball picked out the big striker in a good position, but Kiraly blocked the shot with his chest.
At the other end, Carl Fletcher dragged a left-footed shot wide after good work from Shefki Kuqi and then a few minutes later the Welshman forced Price to tip a powerful drive over the bar. Things got better for Palace though, as from the resulting corner they took the lead when another fabulous Kennedy delivery was headed firmly home by Cort.
As Ipswich surged forward, Palace were looking dangerous on the break and Kuqi shot wide after a lung bursting run from his own half before Kennedy shot straight at Price from the edge of the box.
Just before the break, Kuqi robbed the ball off Ipswich captain Richard Naylor before sprinting for goal but Fabian Wilnis made a great covering tackle to deny the Finn a shot on goal.
Palace made a great start to the second-half and doubled their lead soon after the kick-off as Paul Ifill fired a firece shot past Price from just inside the box following a fortunate bounce. It was a two goal lead that Palace deserved after a positive start to the second period.
Mark Hudson headed straight at Price from a corner and after 63 minutes Fletcher again tested Price, this time with a magnificent rising drive from distance. The Eagles were rampant and the next Palace player to try their luck was Kennedy but his deflected shot looped just over.
Kuqi forced yet another save out of Price after a great surging run into the box and right foot shot, but the corner was delayed after a breif melee resulted in both Soares and George O'Callaghan receiving yellow cards. Ben Watson then made an appearance as a substitute for Kennedy but seconds later Soares got his marching orders after a late tackle on Dan Harding. It was not a malicious tackle but referee Martin Atkinson flourished the red card straight away.
Despite their numerical advantage Ipswich could not create any further chances and Palace comfortably played the remainder of the game out to keep a clean sheet and a deserved three points.
