James Dayton's comeback from injury gathered pace as he helped Palace to a draw at Tottenham in the FA Academy Premier League.

The 19-year-old professional - on the pitch as one of the allotted overrage players - recently returned to action after tearing a cruciate knee ligament earlier in the season.

And the left winger marked a 90-minute run-out with the visitors' opening goal on 55 minutes.

Midfielder Jamie Smith notched another five minutes later as Palace came away with a 2-2 draw.

Palace: Thorp, Abnett, Clyne, Edwards, Dalhouse, Comley (Nnamani 30), Cadogan, Smith, Bostock (c) (Djilali 80), Kudjodji, Dayton.

Subs not used: Sweeney, Holness, Adelakun.

Goals: Dayton (55), Smith (60).
